Honey bees are remarkable creatures to whom we owe immense gratitude. Their selfless industry in pollen collection and redistribution benefits the greater good of all life.

Many ancient and recent cultures have identified with the honey bee’s pure motive as an example for human endeavour. My work presents the humble honey bee at a dramatic scale, scrambling to salvage its home and contents from an unseen force.

Please note, the maquette pictured is an interactive work; the bee can be separated from the honeycomb and replaced in an endless variety of positions.
